Instructions:

Take a sheet of 8.5x11" sheet of paper, and fold it into quarters in the short direction. On the first quarter, take a few minutes to draw a picture of something that you did this summer. Where did you go? What did you see? What did you do while you were there? Try to be neat, stick figures are fine.

Once you are done, fold your paper so that all you can see is your drawing and the section below it, then pass it to your right. When you receive a sheet of paper look at it carefully. If it has a drawing on it, write a description of what you see. If it has writing on it, draw a picture of what it says.

If you reach the end of the piece of paper, turn it over and continue on the other side, being sure to fold it so that all you can see is the area you drew or wrote on and the blank space below it.

Submission:

Submit a scanned photo of both sides of your original drawing, along with a description of the things that changed between the beginning and the end of your page under the Response tab.

Prompt

There are many kinds of people who all need different things! In the slides above, choose an Audience, an Activity, and a Design Constraint to create a new product for.

With a sheet of paper and a pen or pencil, quickly sketch a few ideas of products that you could design that would fit within these categories. As you do this, consider:

  1. How is your audience different from others?
  2. What makes your product just for them?
  3. How does your product allow them to do the activity the best they can?

Deliverable

In the response tab, create a post with a scanned image of your design challenge proposal, and a sentence or two describing what you have created!
